Since 2017, we have led the effort to fund the Jordan Valley Excavation Project (JVEP). We have been at the forefront of JVEP’s pioneering archaeological work.

 

Our Mission

The Institute for Biblical Exploration (IBEX) is a non-profit (501c3) educational organization dedicated to research, public education, and faith enrichment. IBEX exists to serve the Church, as well as other learning communities, through programs that support the study of the Bible, its ancient context, and its contemporary application. IBEX’s programs include:


  • In-depth textual, cultural, and historical analysis of biblical accounts;
  • Seminars or series for the local church;
  • Retreats for church groups;
  • Course of study programs for person preparing for ministry.
  • Continuing education workshops for pastors, elders, deacons, or other church leaders.
  • Conducting original archaeological fieldwork through the Jordan Valley Excavation Project (JVEP), with a view to illuminating early Israelite history in the Jordan Valley; 
  • The teaching ministries of IBEX include published research, popular articles in magazines, journals, and Church publications, seminars, and video presentations. All of IBEX’s teaching ministries are designed for the purpose of: (1) illuminating and enhancing the understanding of the biblical text; (2) edifying the Church and other faith communities by enhancing their understanding of the Bible; (3) making biblical truth relevant; and (4) sharing God’s love.
